Welcome to Our Township

Oceola Township is centrally located in Livingston County. The township contains substantial expanses of farmland upon slightly rolling terrain. More than half of Thompson Lake is in the southwest corner of the township. Hundreds of residents along the shore and visitors to Howell City Park enjoy this scenic 262-acre, all-sports lake. The 2020 Census population of Oceola Township is 14,623 citizens.

Oceola Township services include Howell Area Fire Authority, MHOG and GO (Utility authorities), and Howell Area Parks and Recreation Authority (HAPRA). Please take advantage of our beautiful walking paths, children's play structure, and community center, managed by HAPRA and located next to the township hall. 

Oceola Township includes Hartland and Howell school districts, with Hutchings Elementary School located in the township.
